The Indian Dance Team of U.C. Riverside, established in 1999 by Umar Khan and Sonia Malhotra, was created as a forum for students interested in dance to perform the various dances of the Indian subcontinent. Subdivided into 3 teams, the Hindi Film, Bhangra, and Garba/Raas Teams, the Indian Dance Team strives to promote Indian heritage through various competitions, community performances, fundraisers, and charity shows.
